Picasa!

I've recently come to the realization that despite its popularity, not everyone has or wants Facebook. Some people are spooked by the lack of privacy; others just don't want to get sucked in to yet another time waster.

So this presents a dilemma.  I take a lot of pictures with my iPhone, and I have a large group of people across North America I would like to share them with.

Ideally, I need a photo sharing service that allows people to view my pictures without having to sign up for a potentially intrusive service.  Enter Picasa.

With easy access using one's Google account (something most people have) and an iPhoto plugin for uploading, I'm pretty much sold.   My public albums are available at http://picasaweb.google.com/randall.cameron -- check it out!  I'll be adding much more in the future.

September draws near...

Less than a month from now I start working towards my Masters degree at Stanford.  Orientation is on the 17th, and the term officially begins on the 22nd.  I'm excited!

Despite school being less than a month away, I am still working at Apple for the time being.  I no longer have my awesome 10 minute walking commute in the morning--I've mostly moved out of my Cupertino apartment.  But hey, I'm only a little further down the road now...

I am looking into the possibility of working part time during school.  It will depend a lot on both my availability and Apple's need; we shall see!

I wore my jersey today for a reason!

WOW.  Nabby made some of the best saves I have ever seen tonight.  What a performance.  The Sharks got off to a slow start in their first playoff game against Calgary, but they have shaken off the jitters and found their groove.

Now off to Calgary on Sunday...the flames are going to get doused.

Long time no post...

Wow!  Time flies.

The last time I posted anything I wanted to get a car, was working as a Test Engineer and Grad School was something I wasn't even really considering.  Lots has changed.

I got myself some wheels about a year ago...'95 Honda Civic with only ~40000 miles on her.  She's got about ~50000 now, and an epic audio system to boot.  How I lived without a car for so long, I do not know.

I'm now contracting for Apple, and living in Cupertino.  I love it.  Great work environment, lots of exciting projects.  I also bought a Macbook Pro, and adore OSX.  In fact, I'm posting this using the Blogger Dashboard Widget--awesome!

And finally: I applied for and was accepted at Stanford for a Masters in Computer Science.  I'm thrilled...I start in September.  Getting back into being a student (aka not having money) will be difficult...but worth it.  I can't wait!
